Renewable Energy is Reshaping Estonian-Made

As Estonia moves towards cleaner energy, the future of KiRiVOO jewellery is becoming more sustainable too. Enefit reports that June–August 2026 set a record for combined solar and wind generation across the Baltics.

“In July 2026, solar and wind together accounted for nearly 70% of electricity generated in Estonia!” 

Estonia may be a small country, with a population of just 1.36 million, but its transition towards cleaner energy is moving fast. In 2025, renewable sources accounted for 68% of all electricity produced in Estonia, while solar and wind alone generated around 46%. During the brighter and windier months, that shift becomes even more visible.

For KiRiVOO, this progress matters. Our jewellery is made in Estonia using innovative 3D-printing technology and recycled precious metals, which already enable us to create jewellery with an 80% lower carbon footprint compared with traditional jewellery.

As the energy behind Estonian manufacturing becomes cleaner, so does the wider ecosystem in which we create. It means that choosing where and how something is made can become an increasingly important part of designing more responsibly.

Estonia has long been recognised for its forward-thinking approach to innovation and sustainability and has set a goal for renewable electricity production to match 100% of the country’s annual electricity consumption by 2030.

For us, sustainability has never been about one single solution. It is about making better choices at every stage — from materials and technology to local, on-demand production and, increasingly, the energy that powers it.
